How it Works
It displays the available people/roles from HR and gives the planner/scheduler the ability to maintain real capacity versus real HR data. Time for contractors can also be entered so that Capacity Levelling is done with the right amount of total Capacity.
CAP is a straightforward tool which enables schedulers to capacity plan resources at a shift level. Work Order Operations can be moved into, out of or within a scheduled week simply by dragging and dropping operations to where they need to be. Performing a real-time check for key variables including other dependent operations which have been moved, a material availability check, machines being scheduled on other days/shifts, checks relationships to other Work Orders and more.
Once the capacity has been levelled, there is a 1 click export to Excel for publishing to display on notice boards and/or as run-sheets for planning meetings. The user can also open SAP® IW38 with the weeks’ planned Work Orders so that User Statuses can be applied and to allow Orders to be Released and Printed. A Material Availability check can also be performed on the Scheduled Operations.
This tool is designed to set the Supervisor up for a good week by having:
